Game Day

One cool autom afternoon my two older brothers decided to take me to the local recreation center to play some ball.I was only 13 years old at the time and we didn't usually hang out much so I was really looking forward to going, and I was ready to go in no time at all.

Aparrently thats not what my brothers thought as i could hear my oldest brother Jamal running down the hall.''Hey abdussalaam hurry the hell up or were gonna leave your short self hear'' he shouted as he pounded on the door to my room.

Jamal had a some what wolfish apearance ,with a frizzy afro ,hooked nose and sharp and pointed teeth. His birch wood skin gave him a much darker complection than my second oldest brother and myself.

''Yo'','' Jamal'','' let me barrow a pair of your jordan's today'' Hakeem yelled fastening his due rag as he jogged up the stairs. Hakeem's galieth stature made him the taller of my two brothers, and he has the same skin complection as me.

''Nah bro'','' you know how exspensive them joints are?'' ''The last pair that i let you barrow had one of the tungs torn out and were missing the shoe strings'' Jamal said standing by the banister as he pointed to the shoe shelf which was visable from the top of the stair case.''Take a pair of my nikes instead Jamal said as I came hurrying out of my room.

''Bout time Forrest'' Jamal said to me as he handed Hakeem a pair of nikes from his back pack.

''Hey chill'' ''I was just lookin for my shorts man''i said stuffing the rest of my gym clothes into my duffle bag.

''Boy shut up or i'll still leave your slow self hear'' Jamal said as he strapped his pack on.

''Then what are we waitin for lets go'' I said ,runing towards the stairs.

As we were heading out of the house our older sister Yasmeen yelled to us from the kitchen and told us to be back by 6 pm .''Don't worry Yas'', we will''Jamal said as we left.

On the way to the recreation center we played tapps with Jamal's new Spalding TM basket ball ,which I thought to myself prabably wasn't a very good idea because Hakeem almost got hit by a car.

We arrived their in one piece however and found a fair amount of our friends there as well.

''Yo what up, Hakeem'' Marcus, a kid in our neighborhood said walking toward mustafa.
''Hey what it is, marcus '' mustafa said as he tied his sneaks.

Marcus was about the same height as Jamal at that time and almost everyone called him pee wee because of how his head was shaped.

We started two teams of three players each. One team consisted of my two older brothers and myself.

The other team had Pee Wee ,a kid nicknamed speedy, and a 6 ft 6 in. 18 year old west indian nicknamed big shaah.

We had a fairly good game other than the fact that we lost and when marcus knocked me down in retaliation for me causing him to fall with a crossover move. He did so by pretending to trip {over what I honestly couldn't tell }.

''Ayyo Pee Wee what the hell was that''Jamal shouted walking towards marcus.

''He was in my way'' marcus said laughing as he stood near the bleachers
.
''Hey you'd better cool it'', ''or your going to be the next one on the floor'' Jamal said pounding his fist into his hand.

''Yo chill dog, my bad'' marcus said backing away. That was the last time he tried anything like that.

On the way home I told my brothers I was sorry if I slowed there progress and cost them the game. And Jamal replied ''Are you kidding bro?, I'd chose you as a teamate over those clowns any day''.

Cheating Death Groceries

It was a warm day in 1986 when I was only 8 years old. The smell of spring was in the air and the sky was bright blue. At 3 p.m I have gotten out of school. The school I went to was P.S. 329 located at Mermaid Avenue between West 29th Street and West 30th Street just around the block of my home. When I got home I took my books out of my book bag and started my homework. When I was doing my math homework. My Grandmother was preparing dinner. The smell of her cooking was making me hungry. My grandma called me from the kitchen "Jose can you go to the supermarket to get some items for dinner when you're done" I answered yes. After 15 minutes I finished my homework and I was ready to go. I told my Grandmother that I was done with my homework. She gave me a list of things to get from the supermarket. When I went outside it was still warm but breezy . I walked on Surf Avenue towards the supermarket that was called Associated. I looked for the things that my grandmother had put on the list. I never realized how many things she needed. When I left the supermarket I was carrying two bags of groceries.Imagine how heavy it was for an eight year to carry groceries. As I walked home I saw a elderly man walking with two dogs. Both dogs were huge but seem friendly. I kept looking at the dogs then I saw a man by himself. I kept walking passing the elderly man with the two friendly dogs. The man who was by himself pulled out a gun and started to shoot. The shot was loud as hell.I stood there for a few seconds just shocked and scared. The shooter fled the scene. Everyone including the elderly man and his 2 dogs left running from the scene. Instead of running for my life.I walked back home with the groceries just thinking of what happened. I walked through my door. My grandmother asked me, "Jose are you fine? Thank goodness you are safe" Afterward she was so sorry for sending me to the store and gave me a big hug. When I looked out of the window I had realized that I Cheated my death with two bags of groceries.

My Childhood Narritive Writing Piece

One day, I went to a school named "Northside Center" at 7 years old. One day I've been aggresive hitting people and throwing chairs. While I was doing all that, my teacher restrained me for 5 minutes. While my teacher restraining me for 5 minutes , they said "No hitting! You don't hit people in this classroom! Do you understand me?!" (not everyday though). This took place near Central Park in Manhattan in 1999. All my teachers were in their 30s. After I was hitting people, at the end of the day I get no treat. The teachers were located in the classroom I was in. One teacher was wearing a light blue shirt and light blue jeans. The teachers were name Kerry and Pamela.

I was hitting students that got their treats. Ireally wate a treat because I behaved wll. My teachers think I was teasing a student, but I wasn't teasing a student. The students were around my age. I felt furious because I didn't get a treat. The treats were twinkies and brownies. I figured that it was not fair.

One month later, I became a good boy for the rest of the school year. My teacher Kerry told me "You have to be a good boy and not hit people". Since I've been a good boy, I deserve a treat. I was happy after I got a treat. I like being a good boy and learn things because it's part of growing up. My teachers usually gives out treat on Fridays.
