my name piece

My mother wanted to give me a name with significant meaning. She chose the name Saleema from the Islamic culture. The Arabic name Saleema coming from the root word Saleem meaning peaceful, and she added the letter “A” because I was a girl. My mom chose my name because she felt the meaning was appropriate to how she felt about my birth and what I would bring to the world.

I use peace in my life by meditating, praying, speaking, and thinking positive thoughts. Not letting people push me in the other directions. I stay focused on my life, family and education. But living up to the meaning of my name is not easy having people in you ear all the time telling you things that are negative, I try and keep my self from those kinds of people, but for the most part I live up to the meaning of my name.

Being peaceful gives me a whole different outlook on life and how to approach certain situations and to deal with life’s ups and downs. I only listen to music like “Goapele closer to my dreams” that will make me feel good and that has meaning and positive words.

In conclusion I would like to say I am proud to have my name and it gives me great joy to be blessed in having the opportunity to have live life being born under such a powerful name.

Peace poem

If the world was peace it would be like a divine reflection of me

In the morning ……..
Peace is soft music the sun shying bright on my window
In the morning singing in the shower to a lovely tune
Smell of baked bread fills the room in the morning peace lays here
In the afternoon ……..
Peace in the afternoon is waking up late from a hard days work or writing your favorite quote in the afternoon peace lays here
In the evening …….
Peace in the evening is taking a long bath with candles lit peace lays here
