Hello, everyone!
We had a fabulous class today sharing our Columbus essays, listening for:
1. structure (introduction, body, conclusion)
2. transition words
3. complete sentences
4. interesting words
5. purpose
6. tone
I am so proud of your hard work, reflective and receptive attitudes, and positivity. Our class is very special, and I owe that to each one of you.
Extra credit for those who want to continue practice on essay writing:
Write an essay arguing "Why should we celebrate Columbus Day?" The best debaters can argue the opposing viewpoint for their argument. Now it's your turn.
Try to use the persuasive essay structure:
*Introduction
*Body (detail 1, detail 2, detail 3, rebuttal)
*Conclusion
Looking forward to hearing Elsa, Maria, and Juanita's essays on Wednesday. Keep up the good work, everyone. It is truly a wonderful experience sharing Mondays and Wednesdays with you all.
Best,
Karen
