Thank you to everyone who posted their writing pieces and comments to classmates. Make sure you read the comments that folks made to your writing piece so that you make your piece better.
A suggestion for commenting:
1. Start with something positive! Is there a particular line that your classmate wrote that you liked? Tell why you liked it. Pointing out what you LIKE will help your classmate know what to keep doing in his/her writing.
Be specific:
Example: instead of "I like your piece", say "I like your piece because you wrote about details from growing up. That helps me know more about you. I want to do that in my writing too."
2. End with a suggestion on how your classmate can improve his/her writing.
Example: "I'd love to know more about...." or "I had trouble understanding...maybe you can...."
Remember, we are here to motivate and challenge each other to grow as writers and readers. Let me know if you have trouble!
