Autobiography
My name is Eric Fu. I came from Hong Kong with my parent. I have an older sister. Her name is Amy Fu. During a period of time fix years old, my family would visited my mom’s grandmother and my aunt every weekend. They lived one hour away from where we lived. My sister and I often rode bicycles while we were there. On the other hand, my mother and my father helped cook potluck with my great-grandmother as my aunt and uncle also stayed at home. Each weekend, a day or two after we arrived, my aunt and father would take my sister and me to the park to play. The seesaw looked like something that my sister and I would really enjoined playing on. We sweat as we played in the park. Around half past six, we would return home for dinner. My aunt, father, sister, and I had fun in the park and then we went back home my family would eat dinner together. As I sometimes, I went to park to play , I often remember this childhood memory
When my sister was eight and I was seven, we studied at the same school. During my elementary school days, I was a lazy and active boy. The teacher often gave me demerits. My sister was an excellent disciplined girl Out of all the elementary students at my school, I received the lowest scores on the midterm. I ever had studied hard for the test and did my best on it, but I failed half of subjects. Finally I finished elementary school, I hadn’t yet received elementary school diploma and I still went up to junior school.
My mother helped me to choose a general junior school. The chosen school was fifteen minutes away from where I lived by bus. Another students bullied me in the class as I was in a bad class from the beginning . Sometimes I wanted to play basketball with the bully, but they wouldn’t like to play with me. I always played basketball alone at other side. Anyway, I had fun with it. When in school, I peach a beautiful girl in our class. She already had a boyfriend whom I already knew. I knew that she would never like me because I wasn’t the most handsome boy in the class. I tried to concentrate on my studies but I still couldn’t focus on my studies. I often thought I would like to hand out with my friends. The final was coming. I still went out with friends and never study. I knew that I must failed all classes. Finally, I would be able to go to the eleventh grade but I quit because I was getting my visa to go to the United States of America with my sister. When I came here with my sister, I wanted to go back to Hong Kong immediately however I stayed in New York City for a year. During that time, I lived at my great – grandmother’s house with my sister. My grandparents immigrated here since twenty years ago. My aunt helped us look for an ESL school to attend. I appreciated my aunt helping us look for a school that’s why I needed to study in an ESL school and I knew it would help me improve my foreign language abilities. Every day I missed my mother and wanted to call her and tell her that I didn’t want to stay in New York City. So Over half year, I went back to my own country.
Last Ten years ago, I immigrated to New York City with my parents. We lived a new life and my sister and I studied at the Chinese high school in Chinatown. My mother and father stayed at home because they didn’t have their social security cards therefore they couldn’t find jobs. They waited to receive their cards for several months. Finally the cards were sent to our home. My aunt introduced my parent to a job in home care. She told them they need to study home care course, if they passed it , they could get certified after that they went to work. On other hands, my sister and I still studied hard at high school. Although my average was lower than my sister, but I was able to pass Math, Government, Earth Science, ESL, Physical Education, and Chemistry except I failed literature. I was able to enter the eleventh grades, but I had retaken the literature class. Finally, I failed it again and hadn’t get my high school diploma because I couldn’t pass all the subjects and get the needed credits. Meanwhile I never give up, even though I hadn’t get the high school diploma, I am now studying for my GED. Next January, I will take the GED test. I hope I can pass it and then going to college soon.

Hi, Eric!
Wow! Your writing has really improved and it looks like you worked really hard on this writing piece. I learned so much about your history in reading your autobiography because of the details you included about you and your family.
I have a couple of suggestions. First, I'd love to know your feelings about many of the things that happened to you. For example, when the bully did not play basketball with you, how did you feel? Were you sad? Disappointed? There were so many parts of your life that I can imagine gave you strong feelings. I'd love for you to share these feelings.
Also, be sure to start your piece with a separate paragraph for your introduction, in which you tell what your writing piece will be about. You also should include a conclusion as your last paragraph. The conclusion should wrap up your piece. Take a look at Della's autobiography to see her introduction and conclusion. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing how your piece turns out! Great job!
